Meditation Benefits

I have been trying practice  meditation to help calm my nerves. I have the hardest time to just sit down and just relax my mind. I can’t just sit still, I am always fidgeting and moving. There are so many positive benefits for you, that it is worth  the 15-20 minutes a day to practice this. When I set out wanting to learn more about this I never really expected to find over maybe 50 positive benefits at most. I knew it helps me when I need it the most and I also knew that it has been practiced longer than the world has been civilized. Today it is practiced all around the world in a variety of ways including  spiritual practice, self-development and medical/psychological therapy.

Physiological benefits:

1- It lowers oxygen consumption.

2- It decreases respiratory rate.

3- It increases blood flow and slows the heart rate.

Bonus, It requires no special equipment, and is not complicated to learn. So many ways to learn tips and teach yourself how to practice. It can be practiced anywhere, at any given moment, and it is not time consuming (15-20 min. per day is good). Best of all, meditation has NO negative side effects. Bottom line, there is nothing but positive to be gained from it! With such a huge list of benefits, the question you should ask yourself is, “why am I not meditating yet?”
