Life can get busy and stressful for us all. The pull of work, bills, deadlines, and family can keep us away and unfocused from what really matters- self love, inspiration, hope, and perseverance. Without those elements, how can we handle our lives, and those we love within it. We need to be comfortable with ourselves. We need to know who we are. We need to be able to stand tall, before we can help others to do the same. Even attempting to do so before we know ourselves is a hollow act that will ultimately fail.
Without those elements, we quickly become stagnant, and lose the drive to better ourselves and our living situations. If you’re finding yourself stuck and directionless in your life, it could very well be a case of you not loving yourself.
Ask yourself- when was the last time you felt happy with yourself? When was the last time you were proud of yourself, or smiled while thinking about your actions that day? If you can’t remember, or if it’s been a while, it may be time to start taking a deeper look at who you are, and how you feel about yourself.
It’s common to feel as if there’s no focus to your life- we all lose direction and sight of what’s important. Again, it all comes back to self love, inspiration, and hope. Life is a series of ups and downs- what matters is that you don’t get too lost in those feelings and negative emotions. Take the time you need to feel down, but then remember that life is long and full of possibilities. The only thing holding yourself back is your own actions (or lack of action, for that matter).
If you can’t take care of yourself, who will? What matters in life is that we’re around to enjoy it and help others. If you feel like you’re not living your life to your full potential, take some time to figure out if you’re loving yourself properly. Don’t feel bad about taking some time for yourself if this is the case. Again, you can’t love or do for others if you can’t do the same for yourself. Life is a great roller coaster ride- don’t miss out on the best parts of it, even for a moment. Enjoy it all!
